Job Description

The role of a Supervisor is a vital position in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of various departments to ensure smooth and efficient functioning. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of employees, maintaining quality standards, and providing exceptional guest service. This role requires excellent leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to effectively communicate with staff and guests. Responsibilities may include staff supervision, problem-solving, ensuring compliance with resort policies, and promoting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of employees, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Ensure that employees understand their roles and responsibilities and that work is carried out efficiently.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee the daily operations of assigned departments, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to standards and policies. Monitor service levels and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Guest Service: Ensure exceptional guest service by promptly addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and requests. Strive to exceed guest expectations and maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, conflicts, and challenges that may arise. Implement effective solutions and communicate them to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain quality standards in all aspects of operations, including cleanliness, service, and product quality. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with resort standards.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new employees and providing ongoing training and development opportunities for existing staff. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members and departments. Coordinate with other supervisors and managers to ensure smooth interdepartmental operations.
  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure that employees comply with resort policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Enforce disciplinary actions when necessary and handle employee grievances according to company policies.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and recognizing outstanding performance. Identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate action plans.
  • Budget Management: Assist in monitoring departmental budgets and expenses, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets. Make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and training in supervision or leadership are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a resort or hotel setting. Knowledge of resort operations and departments is beneficial.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and guide a team. Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, guests, and other departments. The ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages is an advantage.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • A customer-centric approach with a passion for delivering outstanding guest service. The ability to anticipate guest needs and provide appropriate solutions is important.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on the operational needs of the resort.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software applications, such as property management systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and integrity in all interactions and decision-making.
