Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment using proper sanitization methods. Ensure cleanliness and organization of dishwashing areas, storage rooms, and equipment.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and ingredient portioning under the guidance of the kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation areas.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, floors, and storage areas. Dispose of garbage and recycling in designated areas. Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen utensils. Notify supervisors when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Support the banquet and event operations by setting up tables, arranging furniture, and providing general assistance during events. Ensure timely setup and breakdown of event spaces.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure effective communication, cooperation, and smooth operations.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals, to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is usually required. Culinary or hospitality education is a plus.
  • No prior experience is typically required, although some exposure to a kitchen or hospitality environment is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices in a food service setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen and restaurant staff.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the operational needs of the resort.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills related to kitchen operations and food service.
