Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused individual to join as a Cashier. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a tidy and organized cash register area. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service:
    • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Assist customers with their inquiries, provide product information, and offer assistance in selecting jewellery items.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly and appropriately.
    • Maintain a welcoming and customer-oriented atmosphere within the store.
  2. Cash Handling and Transaction Processing:
    • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
    • Accept cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment from customers and provide accurate change.
    • Verify the authenticity of checks and process check payments.
    • Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift and reconcile any discrepancies.
    • Ensure all transactions are recorded and documented accurately.
  3. Product Knowledge and Merchandising:
    • Familiarize yourself with the jewellery products and their features to provide accurate information to customers.
    • Assist with pricing and tagging merchandise as needed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized display area, ensuring products are properly showcased.
  4. Store Operations Support:
    • Assist in maintaining inventory levels by notifying supervisors of low stock or popular items.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Contribute to loss prevention efforts by being attentive to security measures and reporting any suspicious activities.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    • Prepare daily sales reports and summaries.
    • Maintain and update customer records, including contact information and purchase history.
    • Assist with general administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
