We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused individual to join as a Cashier. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a tidy and organized cash register area. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers with their inquiries, provide product information, and offer assistance in selecting jewellery items.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly and appropriately.
- Maintain a welcoming and customer-oriented atmosphere within the store.
- Cash Handling and Transaction Processing:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Accept cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment from customers and provide accurate change.
- Verify the authenticity of checks and process check payments.
- Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded and documented accurately.
- Product Knowledge and Merchandising:
- Familiarize yourself with the jewellery products and their features to provide accurate information to customers.
- Assist with pricing and tagging merchandise as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized display area, ensuring products are properly showcased.
- Store Operations Support:
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels by notifying supervisors of low stock or popular items.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Contribute to loss prevention efforts by being attentive to security measures and reporting any suspicious activities.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Prepare daily sales reports and summaries.
- Maintain and update customer records, including contact information and purchase history.
- Assist with general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Strong numeracy skills and the ability to handle cash accurately.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
